Accessibility statement

Our commitment

VantaCart is committed to making our website and application usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We work to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and to align with the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which is the standard widely referenced by U.S. courts and regulators for digital accessibility.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. VantaCart targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. We completed a full internal audit of the site against the Level AA success criteria on the date shown above and remediated every barrier identified, including:

  • A skip-to-main-content link on every page so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass repeated navigation (WCAG 2.4.1).
  • Programmatic names, roles, and states on every interactive control, including custom toggles and modal dialogs (WCAG 4.1.2).
  • Explicit labels and instructions on every form input (WCAG 3.3.2), and `role="alert"` live regions on submission errors (WCAG 4.1.3).
  • Scoped headers and captions on every data table (WCAG 1.3.1).
  • Visually hidden text summaries of every data visualization so screen-reader users get the same insights available via the tooltip layer (WCAG 1.1.1).
  • Site-wide `prefers-reduced-motion` handling that disables loaders, skeleton pulses, and other non-essential animation for users who request reduced motion (WCAG 2.3.3).

Automated regression coverage with axe-core is on the near-term roadmap so accessibility regressions break our build the moment they are introduced.

Measures we take

  • Build pages with semantic HTML and ARIA roles so screen readers can announce structure and controls.
  • Support full keyboard navigation, including focus indicators on interactive elements.
  • Target a minimum 4.5:1 text contrast ratio (3:1 for large text) across light and dark themes.
  • Provide text alternatives for non-text content where it conveys meaning, and mark decorative imagery as such.
  • Test new features against assistive technologies including VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows).
  • Review designs and code for accessibility before release, and treat accessibility regressions as bugs.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of VantaCart relies on the following technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA. These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Known limitations

Some content is generated dynamically from third-party retailer APIs (for example, product names, categories, and images). We cannot guarantee that every upstream value is fully accessible (such as missing alt text on retailer-supplied images), but we surface this content using accessible patterns and continue to improve fallbacks. Third-party authentication and account widgets are also out of our direct control; we ship them in their accessible default configuration.

Conformance badge

The badge displayed in the site footer is the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Level AA conformance logo. Per W3C policy this is a self-declared statement of conformance — no third party has certified this site. If you encounter content that does not meet Level AA, please report it using the feedback channel below; we treat such reports as bugs.

Feedback and reporting barriers

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of VantaCart. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or need information on this site provided in an alternative format, please contact us:

  • Email: vantacarts@gmail.com — or use our Feedback page to open a prefilled message.
  • Please include the page URL, the issue you encountered, and the assistive technology and browser you were using.

We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to propose a remediation timeline for confirmed issues.

Ongoing effort and disclaimer

Digital accessibility is an ongoing, active process, not a one-time fix. VantaCart is under continuous development: new features, content, and third-party integrations ship frequently, and web standards, browsers, and assistive technologies themselves evolve over time. We review accessibility as part of every release and update this statement as the product changes.

We make a good-faith, best-effort commitment to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, but we do not represent or warrant that every page, feature, or piece of third-party content is free of accessibility barriers at every moment in time. If you encounter a barrier, the most effective path to a fix is to use the feedback channel above — we treat verified reports as bugs and prioritize them alongside other product work.
